What is ‘spiritual direction’?
The purpose of spiritual direction is to provide opportunity for further growth in faith and understanding. In modern times there is often conflict between past experience and our own changing perceptions of spiritual truth. We are open to wide and varied influence and are no longer expected to accept a single, imposed religious authority. There is opportunity at Noggs Barn to be quiet and talk through such experience in a non-judgemental and open atmosphere. This will be an hour with a spiritual director who will have significant experience of their own to draw from. However the purpose will be to act as a guide, enabling the directee to move creatively towards their own further discovery. Spiritual direction is a relationship between two people both of whom are open to new enquiry along the way. All spiritual direction is held within a spirit of respect and confidentiality.
